Alpaca is a client-only application for Vikunja. We believe in straightforward privacy: what happens on your device stays on your device.
To help us improve the app and fix bugs, Alpaca uses Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, it may send an anonymized report to Firebase. These reports contain technical information such as:
This data is strictly used for debugging and improving app stability. It does not contain your tasks, passwords, or personal account information.
Control: You can choose to disable crash reporting at any time in the app settings.
Beyond the stability reports mentioned above, Alpaca does not collect or store any personal data or usage statistics. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking services.
Alpaca connects directly to your self-hosted Vikunja instance. All your tasks, projects, and personal information are stored and managed solely on your own server.
You are responsible for the privacy and security of your self-hosted Vikunja instance. Alpaca does not have access to your server data beyond what is necessary to display and manage your Vikunja content directly on your device.
Alpaca does not utilize any cloud services for data storage or share your data with any third parties (other than the anonymized stability data provided to Firebase).
Alpaca is a closed-source application. While you cannot inspect the code directly, we are committed to the principles outlined in this privacy policy and the philosophy of data sovereignty.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
